Independent Motorcycle Valuations UK

I am an independent motorcycle valuation specialist with over thirty years’ experience in the motor trade, including ten years with Glass’s Guide as a Valuations Editor across motorcycle, commercial vehicle and specialist sectors.

During my time at Glass’s Guide, I worked within structured, market-led valuation systems, valuing motorcycles at scale while developing an understanding of how real-world buying and selling behaviour shapes price. That grounding remains central to how I approach valuation work today.

Since 2010, I have operated as an independent consultant, providing motorcycle valuations for private clients, insurers, solicitors and financial institutions. My work ranges from single classic motorcycles to larger collections and more complex matters where value is unclear, disputed or requires careful analysis.

Motorcycle markets can be inconsistent and often lack reliable comparable data. Values are heavily influenced by condition, originality, specification and provenance, and small details can materially affect outcome. My role is to assess these factors and provide a clear, evidence-led opinion grounded in how the market actually behaves.

I regularly work on classic and vintage motorcycles, modern classics, modified machines and competition bikes, as well as less conventional or specialist vehicles. Instructions may involve insurance valuations, probate, import values, dispute resolution or advisory work around purchase and sale.

Most of my work arises through referral or repeat instruction. I am used to working with incomplete or conflicting information and aim to provide clear, proportionate valuations that allow clients to make informed decisions.

Alongside my valuation work, I have a long-standing interest in motorcycles and the wider specialist vehicle world, with experience across both ownership and market activity. I have a collection of seven motorcycles including a couple of Ducatis (Monster 800 S.i.e. in blue and ST4 in yellow) and a pair of ex-Special Escort Group BMWs, including one used in Princess Diana’s funeral.
